Metabolic Health Malta - Putting T2 diabetes into remission and improving other chronic conditions through Good Food Choices
Metabolic Health is an exploding field largely unknown by the general public at the moment. Simply put it is the study of how the inputs you choose to put in ( food, exercise, sleep, sun, stress ) impacts how your body processes those inputs with the largest factor under your own control being what you choose to eat.
Metabolic Health Malta is a website dedicated to increasing knowledge about what you eat can affect how you feel with specific references to the hundreds of chronic conditions and physical ailments we all experience. The information is available to everyone from public health, medical students and professionals to the general public . A simple search function will guide you towards research papers regarding nutrition and health, and experts in the field. We point you to free resources, free lectures and we sponsor attendance both on-line and in person to conferences of professionals working in the field. (2023 in Zurich , London 2024 May 17th to 20th – still open for applications refer to website)
We provide access to some of the leading researchers in the metabolic health field , science and practitioners including modern chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart , kidney and liver disease, but also via an introduction to the new field of metabolic psychiatry, the profound impact that improving nutrition can have on a large range of mental issues from ADHD to bipolar, depression and cognitive decline and even alzheimers prevention.
The core principles are – Eat MEDS ( meat, eggs, dairy, seafood), and with fresh vegetables you cooked yourself in combinations that suit your own personal preferences and you may find you don’t need quite so many med(ications). The first question your vet will ask you when you take your pet will be ” what is he eating” – it should be the first question your doctor asks as well and ideally the first question you ask yourself !
